Participants will receive an overview of universal, targeted, and intensive evidence-based practices for addressing the problem of school refusal and truancy. Participants will gain an understanding of how to address school refusal and truancy with a comprehensive approach through school, family, and community-based partnerships.
This session will help participants:
1. describe terms, characteristics, and risk factors associated with school refusal and truancy.
2. identify assessment and evidence-based practices to address school avoidance
3. identify issues associated with school refusal and truancy for students with IEPs
