    This session will summarize empirical findings regarding the importance of school-based prevention of behavioral and mental health problems. The presentation will address issues specifically related to implementation supports, tiered interventions, and integrating programs. The science of prevention will be discussed relative to the framework of behavioral mental health. This session is cosponsored by the Convention Committee and the Society for the Study of School Psychology (SSSP).

    Learner Objectives:
    This session will help participants
    1. increase awareness of the research documenting the importance and efficacy of prevention of behavioral and mental health problems in schools; 
    2. identify effective prevention programs to implement in schools; and
    3. describe effective models of implementation support (e.g., coaching)  

    1.25 Documented CPD Credits/Hours   NASP is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. NASP maintains responsibility for this program and its content. NASP is a Washington Clock Hours Approved Provider.
