DS001: Mastering the Art of Culturally Responsive Interviewing
This Documented Session includes essential skills for completing culturally responsive interviews with children and adolescents. Through lecture, storytelling, and modeling, participants will learn techniques to develop comprehensive culturally validating sociocultural histories. This session is sponsored by the Convention Committee. Learner Objectives: This session will help participants
learn cultural constructs that should be explored as part of formulating a sociocultural history;
apply a collection of culturally responsive interview questions to assess acculturation in children and families; and
deliver culturally aligned interview questions to gather culturally relevant material from their students and their families.
