    This lecture session will feature a review of the military deployment cycle and the specific impacts each stage has on the military family. Particular emphasis will be placed on how children respond and the impact this has in the classroom. Interventions will be reviewed. Managing soldier parent death using the Sesame Street curriculum also will be discussed.

    Learner Objectives:
    This session will help participants
    1. understand the intricacies of the deployment cycle and the impact on the family,
    2. implement strategies to help students manage deployment stress in the classroom and at home, and
    3. learn how to discuss and support children in the event of a soldier parent’s death.

    1.25 Documented CPD Credits/Hours   NASP is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. NASP maintains responsibility for this program and its content. NASP is a Washington Clock Hours Approved Provider.
