This presentation will highlight research on conjoint behavioral consultation (CBC), a family–school partnership intervention that supports children by engaging families, strengthening family–school connections, and building parent and teacher competencies. Findings from recent randomized trials conducted in rural and urban schools will be presented, which highlight empirically derived benefits for students, parents, and teachers.
Learner Objectives: This session will help participants
understand the research-based benefits of conjoint behavioral consultation for students, parents, and teachers;
identify methods for connecting families and schools to effectively address behavioral and social–emotional challenges of students in the early grades; and
recognize the important role that CBC and family-school partnerships can play in under-resourced, hard-to-reach rural communities.
