But I’ve Tried Everything! What to Do When the Intervention Does Not Work
School psychologists are more frequently being called on to consult with teachers about students for whom Tier 2 interventions were not successful, and many of those consulting sessions end with, “I’ve already tried that.” This interactive workshop will present a model to further analyze student reading and math problems in order to suggest interventions or modifications with a high likelihood for success.
Learner Objectives: This workshop will help participants
understand how learning theory can help pinpoint a breakdown in student learning;
differentiate if students are struggling to learn something in the first place, retain the information, or apply it in a meaningful way; and
suggest Tier 3 interventions or modifications to existing interventions to improve student outcomes in reading and math.
