School psychologists often face resistance when leading systems-level change, even with strong evidence on their side. This session offers practical, research-based strategies to overcome barriers such as limited buy-in, insufficient administrative support, and ineffective professional development. Drawing from implementation science and adult learning theory, attendees will explore why change efforts stall—and how to build trust, tailor support, and sustain momentum. Learn to influence without formal authority, advocate for systemic support, and align change efforts with educator needs and school goals. Participants will leave equipped with actionable tools to foster shared ownership and drive lasting improvements in student outcomes.

    This session will help participants:

    1. Identify common sources of resistance to educational change among teachers and administrators, based on current literature and practice.

    2. Apply evidence-based strategies to build educator buy-in and motivation for sustained change in practice.

    3. Develop responsive communication and coaching approaches to support ongoing professional learning and implementation fidelity.
