Testing Accommodations for Students with Disabilities: Research-Based Practice
Testing accommodations are among the most common services for students with disabilities; most students with IEPs or Section 504 plans receive testing accommodations. However, much confusion exists regarding which accommodations are appropriate on which tests for which students. This webinar provides research-based guidance on the topic, covering the legal and ethical framework for providing accommodations, key questions to ask when considering whether an accommodation is appropriate, and how to perform psychoeducational evaluations that yield the evidence most relevant to accommodation decisions.
Learning Objectives: At the end of the session, participants will be able to: 1. Participants will be able to describe the results of key empirical research studies on accommodations. 2. Participants will be able to apply a model of 5 questions to ask when making accommodations decisions. 3. Participants will be able to select appropriate diagnostic tests relevant to accommodations decisions.
