    This presentation serves as a primer for school psychologists and other school-based practitioners to enhance their knowledge of racial battle fatigue, a framework devised by Dr. William Smith, to capture the short- and long-term psychological, physiological, and behavioral impact of racism on an individual’s functioning. Attendees will learn of factors that contribute to the manifestation of racial battle fatigue, its various manifestations in youth, and prevention and intervention strategies to support students of color in educational settings.
     
    Learner Objectives
     
    This session will help participants:
    1. Identify three factors that contribute to racial battle fatigue in youth. 
    2. Identify three manifestations of racial battle fatigue in youth. 
    3. Describe three strategies to address racial battle fatigue in educational settings.
    1 Documented CPD/CE Credits/Hours   NASP is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.
