Many schools are implementing trauma-sensitive programs or practices. Unfortunately, some have not been clinically field-tested and/or are not scientifically-based. Most critically, they are not implemented in multi-tiered ways, are not integrated into districts' multi-tiered systems of supports, and do not address students' emotional regulation needs at the prevention, strategic intervention, or intensive/clinical need levels.
This webinar directly addresses these gaps, focusing especially on ways to enhance students' emotional regulation skills relative to explicit multi-tiered services, supports, strategies, and interventions. A cognitive-behavioral emotional regulation blueprint will be presented, along with specific Tier II and III cognitive-behavioral programs and interventions. Learning Objectives: At the end of the session, participants will be able to: 1. identify the most-common elements of current trauma-sensitive school programs. 2. describe a scientifically-based cognitive-behavioral self-regulation blueprint addressing students' emotional awareness, control, and coping. 3. identify specific evidence-based cognitive-behavioral programs and practices needed by some students at the Tier II and III levels.
