This presentation will take attendees through the personal stories of growing up with disabilities and entering into the field of school psychology through the use of lecture and videotaped interviews.

    Learner Objectives

    This session will help participants:

    1. identify what is known and not known about school psychologists with disabilities,
    2. understand the personal hardships one school psychologist faced both growing up with disabilities and entering the field of school psychology; and
    3. draw parallels between what happened throughout the speaker’s life and how it relates to practices that continue to segregate children and people with disabilities both in accessing education and in diversifying the field of school psychology.
