Culturally responsive practices are the key to supporting our increasingly diverse population of students. Learn techniques to efficiently develop thorough sociocultural histories and tailored evidence-based interventions. The presenter will use material from her 2009 book, The Psychology of Multiculturalism in the Schools, as part of the curriculum for this session.
    Learner Objectives:
    This session will help participants:
    1. identify cultural constructs to explore as part of formulating a sociocultural history.
    2. integrate culturally responsive interview questions to assess acculturation and determine strengths and assets of families.
    3. integrate cultural content into psychoeducational assessments as part of a comprehensive sociocultural history.
    4. apply cultural adaptations to evidence-based mental health interventions.
