    This session from the NASP 2018 Annual Convention addresses strategies for providing results of psychoeducational assessments to parents or caregivers in a culturally appropriate manner. Participants will learn cultural factors that are important consider in planning the feedback meeting. The session will incorporate role-play examples and lecture to support school psychologists in applying culturally responsive assessment and feedback practices. 

    Learner Objectives: 
    This session will help participants
    1. plan and implement a culturally responsive assessment approach from the initial interview to the final feedback meeting,
    2. learn cultural factors to consider prior to the feedback meeting, and
    3. learn how to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and empower families before and during the feedback meeting.

    Participants may also be interested in the Psychology of Multiculturalism in the Schools, authored by our speaker, Dr. Janine Jones.

    1.25 Documented CPD Credits/Hours   NASP is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.
