Description: With the ongoing rise in suicide rates, it is critical to understand and incorporate updated information in the realms of intervention, assessment, and postvention. This webinar will provide an overview of the recent information obtained in these areas, with emphasis on lessons learned through the pandemic and about our most vulnerable populations. Key points of prevention will be covered, and discussion of harmful and supported postvention supports will also be included. The four critical areas of suicide assessment will also be outlined, with an emphasis on assessment not for prediction but for building support plans that target coping and resiliency.

    Learner Objectives:

This session will help participants to:

    1. Name at least three components of suicide prevention.
    2. Identify two harmful and two supportive postvention supports.
    3. Describe the four key areas of suicide risk assessment.
