Larger districts usually have many school psychologists working with them, and a large staff allows for practitioners to self-select into specialized areas of assessments (e.g., preschool, severe or profound, bilingual). Whereas rural school districts often have only one or two school psychologists who, therefore, must “specialize” in everything. Or else rural districts have to contract outside professionals to provide these more specialized services. This webinar discusses how to meet the needs for specialized service providers in underserved groups. It includes the use of teleassessments, translators, and specialized assessments based on resources and needs.
Learner Objectives
This session will help participants to:
- Determine appropriate tests for different needs.
- Work with translators through teleconferencing services.
- Determine the feasibility of teleassessment.
