    Through a combination of lecture and case examples, participants will develop an understanding of the history of Title IX and how the new regulations impact schools and school psychologists. This session is sponsored by the Convention Committee. 

     

    Learner Objectives: 


    This session will help participants:

    1. gain knowledge about Title IX and the implications of the current regulatory updates for schools and school psychologists, particularly pertaining to serving LGBTQ+ youth; 

    2. understand schools’ obligations to ensure learning environments are free from discrimination as dictated by Title IX and other key education civil rights laws; and 
    3. support school and district leaders implement policies and practices that create learning environments free from discrimination, with a particular focus on discrimination on the basis of sex. 

     

    1.25 Documented CPD Credits/Hours   NASP is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. NASP maintains responsibility for this program and its content. NASP is a Washington Clock Hours Approved Provider.
