DS005: Social–Emotional Interventions with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students
ThisDocumented Session shares information related to how school psychologists working with Deaf and hard of hearing(DHH) students are addressing SEL instruction, what methods are being used, and how materials are being modified. This session will also address the lack of research and evidence-based SEL approaches for our DHH students.This session is sponsored by the Convention Committee.
Learner Objectives:
This session will help participants:
learn how other school psychologists working with DHH students are addressing SEL instruction in their school settings and share what they are doing in their own settings;
develop ideas for ways to modify SEL materials and instruction to foster these skills in the diverse population of DHH students; and
identify concrete strategies for increasing evidence-based SEL instruction for DHH students.
1.25 Documented CPD/CE Credits/Hours NASP is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. NASP maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
