    This workshop will review the laws and regulations associated with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, with detailed discussion on determining eligibility and developing and reviewing a Section 504 plan. The workshop will be delivered through PowerPoint presentation with supplemental materials that include excerpts from legal decisions. 

    Learner Objectives:
    This workshop will help participants

    1. learn to distinguish a local educational agency’s responsibility under Section 504 versus the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA),
    2. develop the skills to identify the legal requirements governing the development of a legally defensible Section 504 plan, and
    3. discuss legally defensible answers to most common questions regarding Section 504 issues, such as assessment, eligibility, and services.
    3 Documented CPD Credits/Hours   NASP is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. NASP maintains responsibility for this program and its content. NASP is a Washington Clock Hours Approved Provider.
