The purpose of this webinar is to illustrate a model of using formative assessment data to make better decisions about reading disabilities, including dyslexia within an RTI service delivery system. A hallmark of dyslexia is poor reading performance despite generally effective reading instruction (VanDerHeyden & Burns, 2017). This webinar will provide information on how to use screening and progress monitoring data to identify risk for dyslexia/reading disabilities and to inform individualized support for students with dyslexia.
Learning Objectives:At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
1. articulate a prevention-oriented decision-making model useful for identifying and serving students with reading disabilities, including dyslexia;
2. describe definitive indicators of risk for dyslexia as well as other risk indicators; and
3. interpret progress monitoring data across all student skill levels.
