Compelling evidence shows that effective screening and use of progress-monitoring tools in math and reading can identify struggling learners and determine whether students are benefiting from instruction or targeted interventions. Less information is available regarding evidence-based assessment and instructional strategies in written expression.
This workshop is intended to provide valid and up-to-date information on curriculum-based measures of writing and the instructional strategies designed to improve the writing skills of pre-K–12 students.
At the conclusion of the workshop, attendees will be able to
•Explain how to implement best practice methodologies in the use of screeners and formative assessments of written expression at all grade levels, and
•Identify evidence-based instructional techniques and interventions in written expression.
