The phrases “systems change” and “addressing barriers to learning” are familiar to those in the education field. Equally familiar is the multicolored, multitiered triangle. What is less familiar is the pathway from multitiered systems of support to systems change. Participants will learn how one system is putting theory into practice—one conversation, one school psychologist, one tier at a time for sustainable change.
This session will help participants
1. operationalize the NASP Practice Model to bring about systems change;
2. connect their practice to the strategic plan of the school division and individual school improvement plan (SIP);
3. look at data and student outcomes through a lens of individual differences, abilities, disabilities, and culture across a tiered system of support; and
4. connect emotional–behavioral programs implemented across tiers of support to student outcomes and school improvement.
