Education data and research findings are known for being cumbersome to use and easy to misunderstand–but they don’t have to be. This session will help participants turn data into something they can easily use and communicate to others. The lecture will be accompanied by hands-on tasks and audience participation. This session is cosponsored by the Convention Committee and the Society for the Study of School Psychology (SSSP).
This session will help participants
1. improve their data displays and data tools to make the data easier to understand;
2. apply diversity/multicultural competence to understanding and meeting the needs of different data audiences (like parents who need to understand their children’s data); and
3. extract meaning from research findings and communicate that meaning to other stakeholders.
